Dear
Community Members:
In
our first three years, The Placer Hills Education Foundation has
provided over $250,000 of support and services to the Placer
Hills Union School District!! Thanks to all of you whose generous
support made this possible!
We
have done a lot of work upgrading technology/computer labs as well as
supporting art, music, PE. and reading rotation programs. As we
enter our fourth year, I’m most excited about the new
mini-grant program we started last year. I’d like the
foundation to help ‘Put the Cool in School,’ and I
see these grants as a way to do this. It’s my desire that,
despite all the challenges the district faces, our children are
excited about coming to school and find something they really enjoy
here.
By
supporting the schools, the teachers and the clubs in their pursuit
of exciting, imaginative, innovative and FUN activities which promote
learning, we can make our schools a place all children want to be and
a continued source of pride for the community.
What
can you do? Of course we welcome every financial contribution to
this annual giving campaign (please use the back of this letter to do
so) – some can even give through United Way contributions at
work. Mark on your calendar Friday, February 27th, 2009,
as the date of our next Dinner/Auction event and if you can donate
any item or service for auction please let us know. As always, your
donations are tax-deductible. Also, because we are an all volunteer
group, as the foundation matures, we greatly need more volunteers to
get involved and keep it going.
Feel free to contact
me, or better yet, ask your teachers what you can do to help them
get a mini-grant to do something they’ve always wanted to try
and then come to our meetings to find out how you can help them
make it happen.
Together,
we can ‘Put the Cool in School!’
Thank
you for all your support!
Sincerely,
Bob
