Dear Carolyn,

Do You Know...  If your Employer has a Matching Gift Program? Many employers match the monetary donations their employees give to nonprofit organizations. If you are unsure, PHEF can help you get the details you need to decide how you will support quality K-8 education at Sierra and Weimar Hills schools. All you need to do is contact Kathy Boice (kboice@colfaxnet.com) to get started. It's that simple.

PHEF Thanks You Ice Cream Social a Big Hit! Ice Cream

An estimated 250 people attended the first ever PHEF Thank You Ice Cream Social at Sierra Hills School on Friday, October 22, 2010. Due to the unanticipated response to this event, 150 yummy Schoolhouse Yogurts were served in less than 20 minutes. A quick trip to Holiday Market by Cheryl Beninga replenished the ice cream supply so that everyone who wanted ice cream got it. The last treat was handed out at 3:45pm, just before the inclement weather moved into the area. Thirty-eight people signed up to receive this newsletter. Greetings & Welcome to all the new recipients! Based on the turnout and support, next year's Ice Cream Social will be even better!

It was learned at this event that quite a few folks are unfamiliar with PHEF and how The Foundation supports the amazing programs at Sierra Hills and Weimar Hills Schools. If you have suggestions on how to improve PHEF's visibility in the community, please forward you suggestions to Kathy Ito kathyito@ymail.com.

What About a PHEF Thanks You Event at Weimar?

"What about Weimar?" has been a persistent comment made around the first ever PHEF Thanks You Ice Cream Social event held last Friday at Sierra Hills School. All things are created equal when it comes to PHEF's support of Sierra Hills and Weimar Hills School. A thank you event at Weimar is currently on the drawing board. Not details are yet available.

How Can I Learn More About PHEF?

Logo

PHEF's new brochure is hot off the press. It highlights the amazing programs at Sierra Hills and Weimar Hills, and how PHEF has supported the schools since 2005. There's also information on how to become a PHEF supporter. Brochures are available in the school and district offices, and at Café Vista. Stop by and pick one up. Special thanks to Kathy Ito at Innovative Type Solutions ("ITS") for providing the in-kind graphics design services, and connections to discounted printing services. ITS is a commercial graphics design business located in Hayward, CA, 510-881-9215.
